Project Objectives

This pilot will “mainstream” students with English 071: Introduction to Academic Writing placements into English 160: Academic Writing I, the first of two credit-bearing courses in the First-Year Writing sequence. Participating students will be provided additional support through a 1-hour co-requisite workshop in English 198: Field Research in Writing and Rhetoric. This pilot is expected to support undergraduate student success by helping students complete 30 credit hours in their first year, move through the First-Year Writing requirements more quickly, and connect with campus support services.
