Project Objectives

  1. The committee will evaluate the Chicagoland marketplace for undergraduate summer term offerings. That analysis will include:
    • Historic trends in the number and type of courses offered at UIC
    • Historic enrollments for summer sessions by term
    • Historic information about the availability of summer financial aid and the impact of that availability (or lack thereof) may have had on summer term attendance.
    • The proliferation of other methods of summer term delivery (e.g. online).
    • Additional data-points as identified by the committee.
  2. Obtain baseline data to validate or refute the assumptions listed in the rationale above.
  3. Develop a series of data-driven strategic alternatives for campus consideration.  Any suggested alternative must be financially viable within the current (and anticipated) economic environment facing the campus.
