About

Dr. Negar Mansourian-Hadavi is director of the Office of Project Management for Student Success Initiatives at University of Illinois at Chicago. As the senior project manager for the Student Success Initiatives (SSI), she works with campus leaders in the development and prioritization of evidence-based collaborative projects that are designed to elevate the student experience, remove roadblocks for student success, enhance equitable progress to degree, and increase overall student success at UIC.

Negar earned a PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering and an MS degree in Project Management from Northwestern University. Prior to her work at UIC, Dr. Mansourian-Hadavi coordinated government funded projects at Northwestern University and City Collages of Chicago. At Northwestern University, she was involved with the National Center for the Learning and Teaching of Nano-Science and Nano-Technology where she managed program development issues and organized faculty workshops and symposia in the area of science & engineering education.

While with City Collages of Chicago, She worked across seven colleges and six affiliated schools in coordinating the launch of a major grant from the National Science Foundation to promote STEM disciplines to minorities and underrepresented students. She has also several years of research experience at Northwestern University and the Functional Coating Technology, studying and developing new materials for superconductors and fuel cells. She has published a number of peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals and presented talks at various international conferences.

In 2007, as a volunteer activity, she founded a non-profit organization, specializing in Persian language and cultural education serving children and adults of Chicagoland area. She developed the organization policy, by-laws, teacher training materials, a progressive language education curriculum as well as program evaluation and assessment plans. She managed a sustained program growth for this non-profit community organization, since then.
