The Office of Project Management for Student Success Initiatives (OPMSSI) supports a collective impact approach at UIC, with a focus on the success of all UIC undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. This office provides project management support for collaborative high-impact projects that are designed to elevate student experience, enhance equitable progress to degree, and remove roadblocks for student success at UIC (learn more about the history of this office).
A leadership team, involving representatives from Faculty Affairs, Colleges (Committee of Assistant and Associate Deans), Diversity, Student Affairs, Student Success and Belonging, Assessment and Planning, and OPMSSI, is charged with identifying and prioritizing projects that can most efficiently contribute to the improvement of student success. An Advisory Board receives updates about ongoing SSI project, shares input to guide future efforts, and advocates for the required resources for the implementation of the project objectives.
The role of the OPMSSI is to facilitate collaboration, troubleshoot issues, advocate for the success of the projects, and share the outcomes with the campus. This office supports projects’ success through a project management framework, while monitoring the alignment of project steps for achieving the expected outcomes. A key responsibility of this office is the development of tools and resources that support the projects and their assessment. OPMSSI maintains its commitment to transparency by providing regular updates to the campus through the projects status reports posted on this website.
