Project Objectives

The goal of this project is to explore whether UIC should pursue stackable microcredentials and the roadmap to implementation, if deemed suitable. The team will review existing literature and national best practices related to this emerging trend, gauge interest among colleges, identify resources, and outline the process involved for the implementation. The expected outcome of this project will consist of a report that provides the argument as to whether UIC should offer microcredentials; the recommended format of such offering; the required resources and steps for the implementation.
